The Nevada County Green Party holds its next General Meeting on Thursday,
February 14, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Madelyn Helling
Library Community Room, Highway 49 and Maidu Avenue in Nevada City.

The February 23, 2006 meeting of the Green Party went very well. Decisions were made on future actions, but better still, people were allowed to vent their frustrations against a government gone awry. The shock of each increasingly fascist move is weighing heavily on the minds of those of us who participate. The inaction and apparent acceptance of our fellow citizens is disheartening. Why do citizens of "less free" countries riot over cartoon images while in our country Liberty is gutted without a flinch? This is a frightening time for our democracy, what a wonderful time to stand for our future.

Our meeting on March 9, 2006, went very well, as you may have read on the home page. The participation level in our county completely blew away the candidates from surrounding counties who had come for our support. I hope all of you will continue to be a strong a force for local democracy. I want to extend a hearty thank you from the Nevada County Green party County Council for all your intense thought and impassioned reasoning in crafting the Resolution to Impeach. We ouldn't have done it without you!
